We have tried to organize the site from the perspective of a Resident of Ogden, Businesses in Ogden, and those tourists visiting Ogden. Generally, everything has been directed from an audience perspective--not from the City's Org Chart.

If you have already glanced through the buttons on the top and on the side, and can't relaly decide where your desired information might be then we suggest:

  Use the search box on the upper right hand corner of every page. Type in your key words. The more specific the words you enter the more narrow your results will be.

  Advanced Search enables you to search specific categories and topics. This could narrow your search results as well.

  We have created three main directories to assist in the organizaiton of the site:




• Topical Directory
  Topical Direcory is organized alphabetically by subject and/or topic. This directoy is tailored to have several different names of topics point to the same location on the site.
  
  Example: One can look under "U" for ulilities or look under "W" for water, and it will link to the exact same place.


• Department Directory
  All departments are listed with their telephone numbers.


• Telephone Directory
  The telephone directory lists all departments with direct phone numbers to key staff and personnel.


• How Do I?
  
  The "How Do I...?" page asks basic questions and provides the hyperlink to the area of information on our site to answer the question.
  
  Example: "How do I start a business in Ogden?" gives you a summary of the BIC (Business Information Center) and provides the hyperlink to their section of the website.
  
  There are some questions that provide links to other websites. Frequently we are asked about Marriage Licenses, Drivers LIcenses, and so forth. For your convenience we have provided links to the county and state websites.
  


• Frequently Asked Questions
  The FAQ section is organized by categories and/or departments. If you don't see your question, simply click on the "Ask a Question" link and ask us your question. If your question hasn't already been posted on the site, we will post it. If it has been answered, we'll answer you and send you to where you can find your information.


• Live Support
  Live support is available the majority of business working hours. Live support is only provided to help you find information on the site. Live support is not provided or authorized to answer specific questions about city business. Again, live support is only provided to help you navigate the Ogden City Website.
