The budget adopted in June each year includes operating budgets for each department and the Capital Improvement Plan. The Mayor, through his/her budget officer, has the responsibility to prepare a tentative budget and submit it to the Council. The Council then considers, amends, and approves or disapproves the budget by ordinance. Upon approval, the Mayor expends the monies in accordance with the budget following standards and procedures found in ordinances adopted by the Council and State Statute.
