What is the process when the shelter receives a stray animal?
- Animals are checked for tags and microchips for information.
- If there is no identification, the animals is held for 3 working days.
- If the animal has identification, the animal is held 5 working days.
- After the holding period, any animal not reclaimed by it's owner becomes the property of the City and may be placed for adoption.
