Blain H. Johnson has lived in Ogden since 1985, except for a period of time while attending law school in Washington state. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State University in 1991, and his Juris Doctor degree from Seattle University School of Law in 1994.
Council member Johnson is currently a partner in the Ogden law firm of Smith Knowles, P.C. His law practice focuses on business transactions and commercial real estate transactions and development. He was also formerly in-house counsel for one of the largest shopping center Real Estate Investment Trust Companies in the country. In that capacity, he handled transactions involving several billion dollars in asset value.
Council member Johnson is a member of the board of directors of the Weber State University Alumni Association and the Ogden Community Foundation. He is also a member of the Order of Barristers and was a pupil member of the Puget Sound Chapter of the American Inns of Court (1993-94).
He is serving a two-year term as a representative of Ogden in the At Large Seat A. His term began in January 2008. He believes that with his background and experience, he can make a difference for the citizens of Ogden while serving on the City Council.
Council member Johnson is married to the former Julie Satterthwaite. They have four children. In his spare time, Council member Johnson enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, skiing and playing most sports.
