Dorrene Jeske, At-Large Seat B

Dorrene Jeske was elected to the Ogden City Council in November 2005.  She has lived in Ogden since 1954.  She graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber Junior College on a scholarship.  She majored in business.

Dorrene ran for the Council because she is concerned about City debt.  She wants to ensure a system of checks and balances between the Council and the Administration.  She is excited about the new businesses that have opened downtown in recent years and hopes to be a positive influence in Ogden's revitalization and growth.  She believes in government of the people, by the people, and for the people.  She looks forward to representing all the citizens of Ogden in At Large Seat B.

Dorrene has been a volunteer with the PTA for 36 years, a leader in Boy Scouts of America since 1970, and is currently the Mountain View District Special Events co-chair with her husband, Harry.  She has attended Wood Badge training for scouting and served on the Ogden School District Board of Education for four years.  She organized the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in the north end of town in 1996 and is currently a volunteer coordinator for the City.  She has been assisting with the Boots 'N' Bunker Fire Safety program for about nine years.

Dorrene has worked at Hill Air Force Base, Internal Revenue Service, and the Defense Depot of Ogden.  She retired in August 1993.

Dorrene married Harmut Jeske in 1960.  They have four sons, fourteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, who are the light of her life.  She enjoys her grandchildren, reading, music, oil painting, musicals, visiting new places, and making new friends.
