Garbage and Recycling Collection Changes
Tuesday, February 26, 2008 - 03:44 AM
Ogden City is implementing a few changes this year for garbage and recycling collection. A four-day work week will be implemented for collection crews, and collection will now take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays only.

All residents who have been on Monday routes will now have a new collection day; Monday clients’ carts will be tagged with a notice of their new collection day.

Another change includes using a separate truck for garbage and recycling. Though collection will take place on the same day, one truck will pick up garbage and another truck will come by later that same day to collect recyclables.

A four-day work week means longer hours for collection crews; they will begin by 6am and work until 4pm. Please be sure to have your carts out on the street for pickup before 6am on your collection day.

Citizens will see fewer collection delays due to holidays this year as well. Holidays that fall on Mondays are no longer a concern and many other holidays will be worked as usual allowing residents to stick to their collection routine. Garbage and recyclables pick up will be delayed for only four holidays this year: New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Following is a 2008 schedule to help keep residents on track.
