Ogden IT Department Receives Computerworld Honors Program "Laureate"
Monday, May 01, 2006 - 10:03 AM

In a recent Press Release, Ogden City announced that the City has been recognized as a 2006 Computerworld Honors Program® "Laureate" for the City’s Good Landlord Incentive Program.

Ogden City will formally receive their Laureate Gold Medal, June 5, 2006, at the historic Andrew Mellon Auditorium on Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC.

“The participating landlords of the highly successful Good Landlord Incentive program have realized a 12% reduction in crime in the past year. This would not have been possible without the innovative technology program that enabled all areas of our city government to come together to accomplish our goal for safer neighborhoods”, stated Ogden Mayor Matthew Godfrey.

In the past few years Ogden City has been increasingly recognized as a leader in Digital Government or the use of information technology to improve the level of citizen services, while reducing the cost of government.

The City has been repeatedly recognized by the National League of Cities and the Center for Digital Government as ranking in the top 3 Digital Cities in its population category.

“Ogden City is thrilled to have our project and organization recognized as Computerworld Honors Program Laureate among the truly exceptional organizations which have received recognition in the past”, said Ogden Chief Technology Officer, Jay Brummett.
