Applicants Sought for City Multicultural Advisory Committee

Ogden City is looking for candidates to fill vacant seats on the city’s Multicultural Advisory Committee. One of the vacant seats is that of a representative from a local high school.
Anyone interested in serving on the volunteer fifteen-member mayor-appointed committee, send a letter of interest and resume to Theresa Mathis, Ogden City Community Development Division 2549 Washington Blvd, #120, Ogden, UT 84401 or by email: theresamathis@ci.ogden.ut.us Resumes will be accepted through October 20, 2006.
The Multicultural Advisory Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council, the Mayor and members of the City Administration. The committee shall address issues and assignments prioritized by the committee with the Mayor’s consent. Issues and assignments will include the following among others:
(1) Address Fair Housing issues in the community for people of all ethnic and diverse backgrounds.
(2) Affirmative Action / Hiring Practices
(3) Sponsor workshops and training
(4) Provide outreach to the greater Ogden community with the purpose of addressing any diversity issues that currently exist or as they may occur
(5) Develop programs regarding diversity issues and provide information to assist Ogden residents in becoming more informed citizens
