The City Recorder is the local official who administers democratic processes such as elections, access to city records, and all legislative actions ensuring transparency to the public. A Recorder also acts as a compliance officer for state and local statutes including the Government Record Access Management Act (GRAMA), and the Open & Public Meetings Act. He or she is the custodian of the City Seal and has oversight of the adoption and publication of the city’s municipal code.

The City Recorder also manages public inquiries and relationships, and provides support services to the City Administration and Council.
