Ogden City approves SouthRiver- an Ogden Bend NeighborhoodMonday, July 18, 2011 The “River Project” is a 60 acre Master Planned Community within the heart of the Ogden City Downtown Core. The Ogden River corridor is the central feature of the project and the enhancements currently underway have created a beautiful and valuable community amenity that is scarcely found anywhere else along the Wasatch Front. |
Ogden City and the Ogden City Redevelopment Agency are pleased to announce the approval of SouthRiver – an Ogden Bend Neighborhood.
Conceived over a decade ago, the River Project, officially known as Ogden Bend, is the vision of a vibrant, upscale, urban neighborhood nestled in the beauty of the banks of the Ogden River. A unanimous vote by the Ogden City Redevelopment Agency on July 12, 2011 will finally ensure that vision will become reality.
Major construction on SouthRiver – an Ogden Bend Neighborhood is expected to commence in August by the Salt Lake City developer SouthRiver, LLC. Stretching across 6.17 acres, SouthRiver will offer over 70 uniquely designed townhomes, ranging from $140,000 to $180,000, and approximately 125 apartments nestled close to the river attached to 25,000 square feet of ground floor retail. As the cornerstone and inaugural phase of the 60 acre master planned Ogden Bend, SouthRiver will be well connected to other future neighborhoods via its integrated trail system and expansive 57,000 square foot open space area.
With home styles reflecting the original Victorian, Arts & Crafts, and Traditional/Modern vernacular of historic Ogden, SouthRiver is uniquely positioned to attract those who desire upscale living in a downtown urban experience, while enjoying the recreational and aesthetic benefits of the historic Ogden River.
Ogden City officials welcome SouthRiver, LLC and look forward to the consummation of a long awaited vision and the completion of what is sure to be the destination neighborhood of the community.
