The hits keep coming as Ogden’s teams participating in the Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Tournaments keep advancing through their brackets. Ogden City is very excited to announce that there are eleven (11) teams from our program participating in these tournaments and all eleven of those teams have qualified for the State Championships in their respective age groups!

The Babe Ruth Tournament is for ages 12 and under and the Cal Ripken Tournament is for ages 13 and older. Teams winning in the State Tournaments will advance on to the Regional Tournaments and then it’s off to the Little League World Series. The Cal Ripken Tournament started one week earlier than the Babe Ruth Tournament; the Cal Ripken League is getting ready to finish their State Tourney while the Babe Ruth League is just getting ready to start their State Tourney.

Babe Ruth League

9U - Coach Kuni; Won their first game in the State Tournament last Saturday (July 7th) which is being held at Stansbury Park.
10U - Coach Armendariz; Won their first game in the State Tournament which is being played at Ogden’s 4th Street Ballpark (July 6-14).
10U - Coach Niall; Won their first game in the State Tournament being held at Ogden’s 4th Street Ballpark (July 6-14).
12U/60 - Coach Vorwaller; Won their first game in the State Tournament which is being held at Stansbury Park.
12U/70 - Coach Whiteley; Won their first game in the State Tournament being held at Ogden’s 4th Street Ballpark (July 6-14).
12U/70 - Coach Richard; Lost their first game in the State Tournament being held at Ogden’s 4th Street Ballpark (July 6-14); they lost to another Ogden City team.
12U/70 – Coach Muirbrook; Won their first game in the State Tournament being held at Ogden’s 4th Street Ball Park (July 6-14).

Cal Ripken League

13U – Won the title of District Champion on Monday night (July 8th) and are moving on to the State Tournaments.
14U – Have secured the title of District Champion and will be advancing on to State.
15U – Won the title of District Champion on Monday night (July 8th) and are moving on to the State Tournaments.

If the 10U and 12U/70 teams all win their next games, they will be playing against their comrades from the other Ogden teams; it will be a bitter-sweet accomplishment for these teams. Many of these games are being played at Ogden’s 4th Street Ballpark so drop by, grab something from the concessions stand and support our local athletes.
