Ogden City Recreation recognizes the need for youth sports at an early age and offers many programs such as Little Slugger Baseball, Mighty Mites Basketball and Kindergarten Flag Football for youth ages 3 to 5. These programs are designed to provide children with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the sports through fun drills and exercises while their guardians participate and learn teaching skills.
Traffic Signal Upgrades Underway

The Ogden City Engineering Division is pleased to announce that a new project is underway that will positively affect motorist and pedestrians throughout the city. Upgrades to the traffic signal lights have begun and include the installation of new sensors and pedestrian push buttons. These upgrades will decrease the wait time at traffic lights for motorists during off-peak hours and will increase ease of use for pedestrians.

Over the weekend, softball enthusiasts joined together at Ogden City’s 4th Street Ball Complex for the annual Fall Classic Softball Tournament. With over seventeen (17) teams coming together from Logan to St. George and everywhere in between, this competitive tournament was fun for both the players and the spectators.

With the help of Weber County RAMP funding, Ogden City Public Ways and Parks has recently purchased a new piece of equipment that will help in the maintenance of existing trails and the building of new trails. The Sutter 500 Trail Dozer was purchased by Ogden but will be made available to surrounding communities with an Equipment Use Agreement to help them build and active-lifestyle community for their residents.

Ogden City Water Utility is continuing to press forward with a meter-change out program that is designed to replace old, out-dated meters with new, more accurate meters. The new meters have the capability of providing the user with detailed water usage which is helpful when trying to conserve and also in detecting leaks between the meter and the home, or in the home itself.

The Ogden Water Filter Plant has been a reliable source of drinking water for nearly 60 years. Even though the plant provides safe drinking water, the plant does not meet current seismic codes and has some serious structural issues. Sunrise Engineering has been selected to design the Filter Plant Reconstruction.
