Gwen & Wall Avenue Elementary Sidewalk Project Announced
Gwen & Wall Avenue Elementary Sidewalk Project AnnouncedTuesday, June 26, 2012 Students of Gwen/Wall Avenue Elementary are getting a new sidewalk. |
This year Ogden City will welcome the students and parents of Heritage Elementary back with an exciting addition. We are pleased to announce the construction of sidewalk on the corner of Gwen Street and along Wall Avenue. Funding for this project was made possible by Ogden City and the State Pedestrian Sidewalk Fund.
This project will connect the missing portions of sidewalk along Wall Avenue to provide a safe path for pedestrians. The Gwen/Wall Avenue Sidewalk project is set to commence the first week of July and is anticipated to be completed around the middle of August.
The addition of this sidewalk will give children and their parents a safe path to and from the school. This becomes especially important as the winter snow starts to fill the landscape and causes the path to school to venture further into the roadway. The Gwen/Wall Avenue Sidewalk addition will be a great improvement for the area.
Parents and students should be aware the project will interfere with pedestrian travel in the area for a few weeks through the summer. We would encourage residents to look for another route to and from their destination until this project is completed.
The contract has been awarded to Stark Brothers Construction for a cost of $70,253.00.
