Ogden City Recreation Fall Classic Softball Tournament a Success
Ogden City Recreation Fall Classic Softball Tournament a SuccessWednesday, October 10, 2012 Over the weekend, softball enthusiasts joined together at Ogden City’s 4th Street Ball Complex for the annual Fall Classic Softball Tournament. With over seventeen (17) teams coming together from Logan to St. George and everywhere in between, this competitive tournament was fun for both the players and the spectators. |
This year, Utah’s only Conference Team, Desert Falls from the St. George area travelled to Ogden City to join in the festivities. Their dedication and love of the sport was definitely visible. However, they came a little short of winning the championship in the upper division. That honor was won by a local team, Referballamas who played a great tournament and was awarded the top prize. The Bad Boys, another local team defeated the team named Dang, a worthy opponent and took first place in the lower division. Both championship games were nail-bitters and the victors of each were decided at the last minute.
Ogden City Recreation will be hosting their last tournament of the year, The Halloween Classic on October 26th and 27th. This is a wooden bat tournament that is fun, unique and often referred to as the best tournament of the year despite the potential for cool weather conditions.
