Educational Classes
COMPUTER CLASSES - Are you someone who keeps putting off taking a computer class you know you need or you can't find the right class offered at the right time or the right place? Look no further! Golden Hours has a variety of classes being taught during regular business hours. Classes include Beginning Computer, Microsoft Word, Internet Level I & II, Digital Cameras, Scanners, Microsoft Access, PAF, and Microsoft Publisher. We have a very knowledgeble instructor who will provide you with an enjoyable learning experience. If you're interested in enrolling in a class please view our Computer Lab page for a listing of classes now being taught or call 629-8867 for more information. Classes run six sessions and are taught twice a week. The cost is $25.
DUPLICATE BRIDGE- This class is taught every Monday at 1:00pm in the ballroom. Please join this great group of people who love to play cards and have fun!
LANGUAGE- Spanish Study Class meets every Friday from 10:00 am until noon.
DEFENSIVE DRIVING - AARP defensive driving classes are taught in the spring and fall. You must sign-up in advance for these classes, and attend both days to receive a discount on your car insurance. The cost for this two-day course is $10. Come and learn better driving skills and evaluate your own driving ability.
SILVERSMITHING- Silversmithing is back and very popular here at Golden Hours; come and tinker around and engage in educational conversation. Classes held on Tuesdays at 1:00 and 6:00 pm.
LAPIDARY- Do you enjoy looking for unique rocks and not sure what next is in store for your wondrous find? Then our class is just for all of those rock enthusiast are looking for. Classes are held every Tuesday at 6:00 pm.
ANTIQUE CLASS- The antique class is held the last Thursday of the month at 12:30pm. If you are interested in antiques and want to learn more and share your own treasures this is the class for you.
BEAD STRINGING- Quality creations come from our bead stringing class. Gathering new ideas and making new friends are such fun here at Golden Hours Senior Center. Class participants have sold beautiful finished jewelry at our craft fair held every fall.
WEEKLY SEMINARS- Join us every Wednesday at 11:00am. Our seminars try to capture the interests of our participants by offering a variety of topics such as; health/wellness education, alternative medicine, caregiving issues, Alzheimer and memory loss, crime/fire prevention, pet care, legal, Medicare/Medicaid insurance, identity fraud, and gardening. If you have topics of interest please let the staff know and we will do our best to offer it.
