NUTRITIONAL FACTS AND INFORMATION

The Golden Hours Center serves a delicious hot lunch five days a week at 11:30a.m. provided by Weber Senior Nutrition. Lunch is a suggested donation of $2.50 for those 60 and over. Those who are under 60 years of age must pay $5.00. Reservations are not required unless we're having a special event and a sign-up will be posted. You may also purchase ensure by the case and pick it up at our center at an affordable price.

Simple Ways to Make Everyday Choices for a Heathier Life

  • Eat right by making healthy choices and having a variety of foods
  • Choose brightly colored vegetables (dark greens, yellows, and reds), an assortment of fruits, beans, nuts,and whole grain breads and cereals. Don't forget about the low-fat diary products; fish, poultry, and lean meats.
  • Aim for at least five servings of vegetables oils, peanut, soybean and canola, soft low-fat margarine and nuts. Only moderate amounts are recommended.
  • Limited saturated fats, found mostly in products derived from animals, such as; butter, full-fat dairy products, meat, poultry, and some tropical oils such as; palm and cocunut oil.
  • Be a label reader and use the "Nutrition Facts" panel to get food information before you purchase it. Compare the less saturated fat and sodium and more fiber and healthy fats.
  • Watch your serving size. Many portions in both restaurant and home cooked meals are too large. (Submitted by American Heart Association)
