The crimes against persons unit consists of three police detectives supervised by the major crimes sergeant and major crimes lieutenant. The unit primarily investigates homicide and death investigations, robbery, rape and sexual assault, arson, missing persons, and assaults against persons crimes.
The unit responds day or night to major crimes. With the assistance of Weber County Crime Scene Investigations, crime scenes are processed and detectives work to gather information to build criminal cases. The unit, with the help of the N.U.C.A.T Detective (the Northern Utah Criminal Apprehension Team) apprehends wanted suspects locally and across the country.
The unit works diligently on all cases with one of our goals to improve the life of the victims that come to us. Some of the links here may offer additional information to crime victims like the YCC of Ogden. The YCC assists Ogden Police in helping women and families who are victimized by crime.
One of the major factors in today's law enforcement is the information available from the public. The unit always needs the public's help with information that will lead to the apprehension of criminals and with information that can generate valuable leads in an important investigation.
Please contact us if you have leads on current or cold cases.
