Ogden City Police Department

Domestic Violence Investigation Unit

The Domestic Violence Investigations Unit within the Ogden City Police Department is responsible for the complete investigation of assigned cases that have been determined to involve domestic violence as described in the Utah State Criminal Code. These cases range from offenses such as attempted homicide, sexual offenses, aggravated assault, simple assault, Domestic Violence in the presence of a child, various different property crimes, and protective order violations. There are currently three full-time positions designated to investigate these cases and present their findings to prosecutors on the federal, state, and local level. One of the three positions was created with federal funding from the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) to address cases specifically associated with Hispanic female victims. The unit also works closely with allied agencies such as other law enforcement agencies, Your Community Connection (YCC women’s shelter), and the Department of Child and Family Services.
