The Major Crimes Bureau of the Ogden City Police Department is commanded by Lt. Tony Fox. Lt. Fox has administrative responsibility for all sections that conduct follow-up investigations and have case management responsibilities which fall under the Major Crimes Bureau.
The Major Crimes Bureau is comprised of one sergeant, 14 detectives, two administrative assistants, and is responsible for investigating Property Crimes (theft, burglary, etc.), Crimes Against Persons (Robbery, Rape, Assaults, Homicides), Financial Crimes (to include identity theft), Auto Theft, Vehicle Burglary, Misdemeanor Crimes, and Warrants Service. In addition, the bureau has a detective assigned to the Northern Utah Criminal Apprehension Team and works daily with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The focus of the Major Crimes Bureau centers on investigations, and prevention of crimes directed against the public.
Lt. Fox joined the Ogden City Police Department in August 1988. He has served in Patrol, Weber Morgan Narcotics Strike Force, Community Police Bureau as both an area officer and bureau Sergeant, Detectives, S.W.A.T team member for 11 years, and spent 5 years as commander of The Ogden Metro S.W.A.T. Team. Lt. Fox grew up in Ogden City. He attended Ogden City Schools as well as Weber State University. His motivation is always to improve the quality of life of Ogden City residents.
