REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA #11 SOUTH CBD

The South CBD Redevelopment Area was established in 1987 and covers 28.54 acres. This Area was formed to facilitate the revitalization of downtown Ogden southward from 27th Street and Washington Boulevard. The impetus for this District was provided when Hinckley Dodge decided to refurbish its automobile dealership at 28th Street and Washington in lieu of moving out of the City limits.

In conjunction with this decision, the RDA borrowed $200,000 from the developer at 10 percent interest and loaned it to the project to assist with demolition, site improvements and street scape at Hinckley Dodge. Another development in the project area has been the establishment of a hardware store in the former Boyle's Furniture Building.

The tax increment received this year may be applied toward the interest on the loan.

***No CDBG funding is tied to this District.
