I spent my evenings from the 5th grade through high school doing theatre and taking advantage of the services provided by the Riverton City Arts Council, which was instrumental in my success. I understand how important Community Centers are and I wanted to serve as a voice on this committee to help make sure we don't lose this vital resource.

I wanted to join the Marshall N. White center committee because I believe that the center is a pillar and a symbol for the Ogden Community. I wanted to be a part of the change and revamp of the center by making sure that residents of the Ogden community were included and heard in decisions affecting the center. Ultimately, I would like to see the Marshall N White center transform into what the community needs!

Gerad "Butch" Sawyer
MNW Committee Member, He is also on our Community Outreach sub-committee.
A little bit about him... I’m a long-term resident of Ogden and made it my home after attending Utah State University in the early 70’s. I am a founding member of Project Success Coalition, a local non-profit serving youth and families in health, education, and cultural arts. In this role, I have worked to provide programming and opportunities to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion including the Utah Juneteenth Festival, Community Kwanzaa, Gift of Love Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners along with tobacco and health programs. I have committed the past 40+ years as a community builder, change agent and mentor. I retired from Ogden City after 23 years while serving as Asst. Director and later Director of the Marshall White Center. This position provided me the opportunity to know and work with countless youth, families, staff, administrators, supporters, and volunteers. One of those families is the White family. Walking into the Marshall White Center gave me a sense responsibility and honor, to be a part of keeping the legacy of the late Marshall N. White alive and well.
I’m married to Betty Sawyer and have been blessed with four sons, a daughter and as of December 2020, a proud grandpa of twelve grandchildren, which brings me great joy and purpose.
Why he wanted to be on the committee... My desire as a board member, now that "I wear a different hat" is to help ensure that the Marshall N. White Community Center continues to be a cornerstone in Ogden, a beacon of hope and a lifeline to the next generation of youth and families. I look forward to working with the community as we determine what the future holds for the “New and Improved" version of the Center.

Camille is enthusiastic about people and bringing them together to connect and accomplish great things. Camille has worked in local government finance for over 16 years and loves being a part of communities she works for and supports and encourages others to get involved in their local governments. When Camille isn't working, she enjoys spending time in the mountains with her husband, laughing with friends and family, reading, and practicing yoga.
I worked for Ogden City for over 10 years. During my time there, I watched time and money invested into the Marshall White Center and witnessed the impact it had on the community as the basketball courts, futsol courts, and building renovations were completed. I'm excited to see the Marshall White Center be revitalized to its full potential and be a place for the community to come together.
