Elections Official


The City Recorder is the local official who administers democratic processes such as elections, access to city records, and all legislative actions ensuring transparency to the public. Find more information on our Election Information page.


Records & Archives


The City Recorder acts as a compliance officer for state and local statutes including the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA), and the Open and Public Meetings Act. Request records and learn more on our Records Request page.


Municipal Code


The City Recorder is the custodian of the City Seal and has oversight of the adoption and publication of the city's municipal code (adopted ordinances). View the Municipal Code.


Public Inquiries & Relationships


The City Recorder also manages public inquiries and relationships, and provides support services to the City Administration and Council.


Historical Documents

The Recorder's Office maintains possession of original documents dating back to before Ogden was formally recognized as a city; however, we do not have an extensive repository of historical photos. Other entities, including the Utah State Archives and the Utah State Historical Society house many more historical documents and photos.
