I want to volunteer to coach a program...
Our recreation programs couldn't run without our amazing volunteer coaches. Whether you have experience in the sport, coached a program before, or are just a parent looking to get involved - you can apply! There are no experience requirements to coach and we can provide training upon request.
All Coaches are required to:
- Pass a background check
- Complete online concussion training
Why should I coach?Volunteering to coach a program helps more children from the community participate in sports, learn new skills, and make new friends. It can be a great opportunity to spend time with your own child and be involved in their program. Coaching a program is typically less time commitment than most realize, requires less experience than most expect, and all volunteer coaches receive a credit to cover registration fees for the next program their child registers for. I want to volunteer, but I'm not able to coach...Still don't think coaching is right for you, but want to volunteer another way? We have multiple opportunities where you can help!
- Assistant Coach: Assist the coach during practices and games. Cover for the coach in cases of absence. Assist the coach in contacting parents, notifying team of schedule changes, and other requests as needed.
- Team Parent: Help as needed during practices and games. Can provide drinks or snacks to the team.
- General Volunteer: Opportunities will vary throughout the year; your volunteer application will allow you to choose areas you are interested in. Should those opportunities come up, we will contact you for your availability.
What do I do next?Contact our office at 801 629 8253 or stop into either of our offices at 1875 Monroe Blvd or 222 28th Street.
