Complete your 2020 Census Online

Picture of People filling the United States

The deadline to complete the 2020 Census has been extended through September 30th.

Every 10 years a census takes place to account for everyone living in the country. The data provided by the census determines how much money is spent or funded(over $675 billion) to communities for hospitals, schools, roads, employment and other important resources based on the census data.  The census also determines the number of seats Utah will have in the U.S. House of Representatives. Some other critical things you need to know are:

  • Your data is confidential. Federal law protects your response to the census and is completely anonymous. The answers are only used to produce statistics to determine what each state will be funded. This means your information won’t be shared with any law or immigration enforcement agencies, and it won’t be used to determine any government benefits.
  • It’s your constitutional right. It’s a way to say “I count” and get the funds necessary to help our community in every way we can.
  • Everyone Counts. The census counts every living person in the U.S only once and the right place. You matter, be counted.

The survey is simple. There are:

  • 9 Easy Questions- household #, household tenure, phone #, name, sex, age, date of birth, Hispanic origin, and race
  • 3 Ways to complete the census- online, phone and mail (13 total languages)
  • 1 Date that matters- April 1st, don’t miss it!
