David Sawyer

As Deputy Division Manager, David Sawyer implements the division's strategy for supporting business and economic growth. He initiates the division's business retention and expansion programs, including workforce development activities, and supports overall marketing communications initiatives.

David has over twenty years of business marketing and community economic development experience, previously working in corporate marketing in Minnesota and New Jersey, and economic development in Nebraska. He has also served in several elected community positions, including terms as mayor and a city council member. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in business administration/marketing from Peru State College in Nebraska, and a master’s degree in community development from the University of Nebraska.

David lives in Ogden with his wife and both enjoy engagement in community service activities. They have five adult children and a growing number of grandchildren.
