On Tuesday, Jan. 3, the Ogden City Council elected Council member Angela Choberka as the Council Chair and Council member Ken Richey as the Council Vice Chair for the 2023 calendar year.
Chair Choberka is entering her sixth year of service on the City Council having previously served as Chair in 2020 and as Vice Chair in 2019.
“Thank you so much for the support," Chair Choberka said upon being nominated. "I'm happy to serve as Chair for the next year.”
Vice Chair Richey was elected to represent Municipal District Three in 2021 and will be serving in leadership for the first time.
“Every single Council member is somebody that I love and respect. I feel like I could support every one of them as a Council leader,” Vice Chair Richey said after taking the oath of office. “I do appreciate the trust they've put in Council member Choberka and myself. I'm excited about the new year. I'm excited about what's coming along in Ogden.”
After votes for both positions took place, Council Members expressed their appreciation to Council Members Ben Nadolski and Luis Lopez for their service in 2022 as Council Chair and Vice Chair.
